Forklifting the Mapi Database to the Non-Mapi

Forklifting the Mapi Database to the Non-Mapi tree and Vice versa.
============================================

User reported me that he has some issue with Public folder store database under first storage group and need to shift to new public folder store under secondary storage group.

As you all know we can I have only one Mapi store for public folder storage and that is also resides under first storage group. But with the help of my research I am able to point the second public folder store as my default Mapi structure. So I taught to share this step with you all guys…

Scenario:
======

We have First storage group underneath we have mailbox store and public store
Moved all the mailboxes from first storage group to secondary storage group mailbox store.
Created a non-mapi tree for the new public store under the secondary storage group
Created a test folder under that new public store.
We are able to view the content of  test public store data through OWA and not able to view it through outlook and you know the reason why!!!!

Steps for converting non-mapi and retaining the public folder store data of first storage group:
1) Took the backup of the database
2) Swapped the mapi role of public folder under first storage group to non-mapi and non-mapi folder under secondary storage group to Mapi
a. ADSIEDIT => Configuration => Msexchange => Servers => Folder Hierarchy => Right Click the Mapi Folder, select “MSEXCHPFTREETYP” and set the value to “0” and non-Mapi folder folder to “1”
3) Under mailbox store properties of all the storage group select the newly public folder as a “Default public Store”
4) After that we will able to view the content of the new public folder store through the outlook.
5) Copied the pub1.edb and .stm to location of secondary storage group and renamed it as public folder.edb and public folder.stm
6) Finally we mount the database.
Thus we have done forklifting process for converting non-mapi to mapi and then re-mounted the old public folder data.
